Here are some house training tips to get you and your pup on the right track:

  1. Set a schedule. Puppies have small bladders and need to go toilet frequently. Establish a routine for taking your pup outside to do their business. This can include taking them out first thing in the morning, after meals, and before bedtime. But to crack housetraining quickly it's best to take your puppy out every hour.

  2. Use a specific phrase. When you take your pup outside, use a specific phrase such as “be clean” to help them associate the command with going to the bathroom.

  3. Reward good behaviour. When your pup goes to the toilet outside, give them lots of praise and treats. This will help them associate going loo outside with positive reinforcement.

  4. Watch for cues. Pay attention to your pup’s behaviour and look for signs that they need to go. This can include sniffing around, circling, or whining. When you notice these cues, take your pup outside immediately.

  5. Be patient. Accidents will happen. Don’t get frustrated or punish your pup if they have an accident inside. Instead, calmly take them outside and try again.

  6. Use a crate. Crate need to be introducing carefully and ideally with professional guidance. A crate can be a great tool for house training. Puppies naturally don’t want to soil their sleeping area, so keeping your pup in a crate when you’re not able to supervise them can help prevent accidents.

Remember, house training takes time and patience. Don’t expect your pup to be fully trained overnight. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, you and your pup will be on your way to a clean and happy home in no time!

Happy house training!
