Dog Behaviourist and Puppy Training in Brighton & Sussex

Specialist help for reactive dogs, aggression, anxiety and everyday training, alongside structured puppy training and early development.

Sue can help you understand and help your dog…

Sue has been working with dogs for over 25 years, helping owners across Brighton, Sussex and the surrounding areas with everything from early puppy development to more complex behavioural issues. Over that time she has worked with thousands of dogs and understands that no two dogs, owners or situations are ever the same. This is why every assessment and training plan is tailored to the individual dog and household.

If you are here, you have probably already tried a few things. You may have searched online, watched videos, or been given advice that has not quite worked for your dog. This is very common. Behaviour problems such as reactivity, barking, anxiety, lead pulling or poor recall are rarely solved with generic advice. What most owners need is clear guidance that makes sense for their dog and their everyday environment.

Why Sue’s training works

Sue works one to one with owners in their own home and local walking areas, where real behaviour actually happens. This allows her to properly assess what is going on and explain why your dog is behaving the way they are.

Her approach focuses on calm, practical guidance that owners can easily understand and follow. There is no judgement, no unrealistic expectations, and no one size fits all methods. Instead, you are given a clear understanding of your dog’s behaviour and a structured plan that helps you move forward with confidence.

Dog Behaviour Problems Sues Help With

Many owners contact Sue when their dog’s behaviour has become difficult, stressful, or confusing to manage. Behaviour problems often develop when a dog is feeling anxious, frustrated, over-excited, or unsure how to cope in certain situations.

Sue provides one-to-one behavioural guidance across Brighton and Sussex, helping owners understand why these behaviours are happening and how to work through them calmly and effectively. Behavioural work begins with a detailed dog behaviour assessment, where Sue observes your dog, discusses the issues with you, and explains what is driving the behaviour before any training plan is introduced.

Sue regularly helps owners with issues such as:

reactive dogs
• aggression
• barking and over-arousal
• separation anxiety
• lead pulling
• poor or unreliable recall

Puppy Training and Early Development

Sue works with puppy owners across Brighton and Sussex to build strong foundations through calm, practical training that fits into everyday life. The focus is on helping puppies learn how to behave in the real world while giving owners the confidence to guide them in the right direction.

Early puppy training focuses on:

• Puppy Teething

• puppy socialisation

• lead walking
• recall foundations
